The Second Letter of John

The Second Letter of

 John

1. The elder to the elect Lady and her children, whom I love in the truth, and not only I but also all who know the truth, 2. because of the truth that abides in us and will be with us forever; 3. Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father's Son, in truth and love.

(The Second letter of John verses 1 to 3)

Oh God my Father, I thank You for giving me the opportunity of being part of the Roman Catholic Church, while I even love those who make part of the other churches, who are also my brothers and sisters, even if they are called Protestants or by some other name. I thank You for this great big family that You made me a part of. Thank You for Your Truth, the one and only Truth, that the Son of God and God Himself I can also call and address as being my Father, even though I am a sinner. May we all be united in You oh God as one big family of love Amen regardless of our differences.

4. I was overjoyed to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as we have been commanded by the Father.

(The second Letter of John verse 4)

Oh God my Father, how nice it is to be found in the truth! It is only by means of Your grace, and the power of Your Holy Spirit who dwells in us, that we manage the attacks of the evil one. I pray that we never allow the evil one to take possession of our souls or be present in us by accepting to sin, for light and darkness cannot exist together at the same time, for where one is present the other must leave. Amen.

5. But now, dear lady, I ask you, not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but one we had from the beginning, let us love one another. 6. And this is love, that we walk according to his commandment; this is the commandment just as you have heard it from the beginning-you must walk in it.

(The Second letter of John verses 5 to 6)

Oh God my Father, even though You have long since given us the commandment to love others as ourselves, we are still experiencing  difficulty in practising it, for our human nature is selfish and our focus is primarily on us. I pray that You free us one and for all from this body of sin Amen.

7. Many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh; any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist!

(The Second Letter of John verse 7)

Oh God, I agree that there are many who are proclaiming false truths stating that You did not come in the flesh. Oh God, this does not make sense, for You chose to become human in order to save us humans. You wanted to experience the difficulties that we experience which leads to love us and understand us better Amen.

8. Be on your guard, so that you do not lose what we have worked for, but may receive a full reward.

(The Second letter of John verse 8)

Oh God, my Father it is only with the help and support of Your Holy Spirit that I can remain on track, for I am weak and prone to sin, however, I really love You even though I do not always live according to Yout ways as You required for me in the ten commandments.

9. Everyone who does not abide in the teaching of Christ, but goes beyond it, does not have God, but goes beyond it, does not have God; whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.

(The Second letter of John verse 9)

Oh God, my Father I pray this morning for all those who have placed their belief in science, philosophy and or psychology and have discarded the only truth that is found in the Bible. They have discarded the true life-giving water for the murky waters of deception as proposed by the sciences and even arts. Even though I have studied such subjects they were not strong enough to shake my belief in You, I therefore, pray for all students whose faith at this age is somewhat underdeveloped not to be negatively influenced by the content of such subjects Amen.

10. Do not receive into the house or welcome anyone who comes to you and does not bring this teaching; 11. for to welcome is to participate in the evil deeds of such a person.

(The Second letter of John verses 10 to 11)

Oh God, my Father when we open the doors of our souls to evil we are giving evil the permission to contaminate our soul. We can welcome evil in many ways even by visiting unhealthy sites, or by holding in-depth discussions with non-believers who may be stronger than us in what they believe and consider as being the truth. Therefore we are to be very careful when relating with others. Amen.

12. Although I have much to write to you, I would rather not use paper and ink; instead I hope to come to you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete. 13. The children of your elect sister send you their greetings.

(The Second letter of John verses 12 to 13)

Oh God my Father I also have much to say and also wish to share with others as I am. Deep in my heart  I have a strong wish to share by means of Youtube these messages so that I may meet others face to face Amen. I pray that if this is also Your will it may be done my God and Father Amen.

Oh God my Father I would like to end this chapter with the following prayer:-

Oh God my Father I pray that the truth may always be found in us. Forgive me for those moments of weakness when I sinned by saying incomplete truths Amen. I pray that You cleanse me of my sinful self so that Your light may be able to shine bright in me Amen
